SELF - UPDATES OF SOFTWARE MIITTELS T2U 
The T2U-dienst offers new possibilities, those at traditional software 
Distributing systems very heavily - if at all -, to realize are. An important 
Example for this is the realization of the Self update for extraneous software. The idea of the Self 
Updates is not new. It occurs more frequently that software, e.g. Adobe Acrobat reader, 
a possibility offers of examining for updates.   The problem however is that into most 
Cases of the users administrative rights to possess must, in order to install an update. 
Thus one switches the Self update with the employment of such a software in one 
Enterprise out. With T2U the administrator Self update for an extraneous software can  
realize. But with T2U the program OKsu.exe is supplied. The idea of the Self 
One can explain updates with the following picture.

It occurs very frequently that programs of the user by a linkage 
are started. The linkage finds the user either on the Desktop or in 
Starting menu. Which program is started thereby directly by the linkage, that knows 
User not at all. For example those becomes with Windows in linkage of software, 
Installer technology installed was started, a Windows Installer component, those that 
appropriate feature of the software first examines. If it is correct, an ex file becomes 
started, to the software belongs. If it is however stated that this feature 
, the Windows Installer Setup is inkorrekt in the repair mode is started automatically. 
Similarly T2U Self update functions. 
For the software which can be installed the T2U-administrator prepares a new linkage, 
for the user as the original linkage looks similar. The linkage 
the same Icon as the original and the same text gets. After the installation that 
Software with the original Setup becomes in the end the original linkage by those 
new replaces. For the user the difference is not to be recognized. 
With the start of a new linkage OKsu.exe with additional parameters becomes 
started (for details see chapter OKsu.exe). The program OKsu.exe examines first up 
the server in a INI file whether an update for this software is present already. If 
the installed software already in the newest version on the computer is, becomes 
the appropriate EXE file of this software started, so that the user of it 
nothing at all does not notice. If the T2U-administrator however already a follow-up version prepares 
and on a server, he put down must accordingly still adapt the INI file. 
Then OKsu.exe notices the fact that an update is present and informs the user 
in this connection. So the update can be started immediately by the user. Details 
Text of this message and the liberty, which the administrator leaves to the user, can 
the T2U-administrator by INI entries steer. 
With T2U one can prepare an update in advance and de-energise at a deadline. So 
one e.g. a tariff update can distribute to a certain deadline. One can that 
Users a certain period leave, in which he the installation of the software 
to reject can. Afterwards the old version is no longer usably, it must thus those 
newest version install.
